What is an Adventure Ranger?
Boys in 6th Grade, 7th Grade, and 8th Grade (approximately ages 11-13) participate in the Adventure Rangers program. Past examples of adventurers include men like Christopher Columbus, who we all know sailed into un-charter waters to get to India and ended up discovering America. What about Lewis & Clark? How about a modern adventurer, like Bear Grylls. He stars in the famous series Man vs. Wild. In his series, Bear Grylls battles nature, Adventure Rangers have a far bigger battle, the battle between good and evil. Adventure Rangers (sixth-, seventh-, and eight-grade) will have a chance to do as these men. An Adventure Ranger will be equipped to battle nature, but also more importantly, to strap on the Armor of GOD.
What do we do in Adventure Rangers??
As an Adventure Ranger, your young man will learn to make their own leather belt, build a toy for to donate for a charity, grow into leadership roles in our Ranger program and much more. With our new 2 hour schedule on Sunday evenings we are able to do more physical activities and bigger projects with our Adventure Rangers. Our normal class time includes a class devotional with prayer time and the a fun and engaging activity. As an adventure ranger, a young man will experience growth in four ways:

Advancement: Gold Medal of Achievement
At this time, the boys are working toward earning their Gold Medal of Achievement (GMA), the most prestigious award that any Royal Ranger can attain (and every bit as challenging as becoming an Eagle Scout in BSA). Every great challenge a young man accepts helps to build his character, increase his determination to achieve, and improve his ability to set goals and fulfill them. The Adventure Rangers Advancement Trail offers such a challenge-the Trail to the Gold Medal of Achievement. It is a plan to help you earn the Gold Medal of Achievement (GMA), a medal of great distinction and honor. It was first offered in 1964 and the tradition continues to this day.The key to progressing on the Advancement Trail is earning merits. There are several ways to earn the merits to advance through Adventure Rangers. Some of the merits will be earned during the weekly meetings, while others will require extra effort outside of meeting times. The merits can be earned in any order, we have established a 3 year plan. This will make it so that no matter what year your Ranger joins the program, they will have the opportunity to complete their GOLD MEDAL OF ACHIEVEMENT. Badges are divided into 4 categories:
